Timber stud work is something the team at LC Joinery Roofing and Building Work carry out on a weekly basis, therefore on Friday 12th October two members of the LC team carried out timber stud work at a care home in Fife to create a particular shape in the room.
On arrival, the workers set out dust sheets to protect the area they were working in.

The description of works that was carried out was:
- Remove toilet and sink for access
- Form 4×2 timber frame (timber stud)
- Fit 100ml kingspan
- Fit 18ml osb
- Fit 12.5ml plasterboard
- Fit skirting
- Fit bend and additional piping to toilet
- Re fit toilet and sink
What Are Timber Studs?
Timber studs are typically formed from 3×2 or 4×2 cls and are usually set out at 600mm or 400mm centres. They have gyproc plasterboard sheets fixed to either side of the timber studs and insulation is inserted between the studs if required.
As you can see from the image below, this is the finished piece ready for the plasterer and decorators. The purpose of this work was to create a particular shape in the room.
